Low Carbon Factory
Chennai
Use of well engineered blocks eliminated the need for interior plaster. Columns, beams and ceiling plastering was not required, thereby considerably reducing consumption of cement, sand and labour. Unobstructed Production spaces, daylit and well ventilated makes working comfortable during Chennai summer. 12'-0" high ceiling and fans eliminates the need for air conditioning.
Occasionally occupiable spaces like board room, pantry & utilities were placed along the western façade of the building, for better envelope efficiency.
These features made the Industry truly sustainable. It is estimated 10,000 KG of CO2 EMISSIONS were prevented by these eco friendly, low carbon design techniques.
